DIY Natural All-Purpose Cleaner

DIY Natural All-Purpose Cleaner

If you start to research chemical regulations, you will find they are outdated, limited, and do not protect us, the consumer. What does that mean for you and me? We have to get smarter, make better choices, and not blindly purchase products without knowing what is in them. Your skin is your largest organ, and what you put on it matters. Did you know most chemicals and toxins can break the skin barrier into your bloodstream in a matter of seconds? Yikes! No thank you to that.

My advice? Don’t fall prey to pretty marketing schemes and false claims. A quick glance at the EWQ’s guide to “healthy” all-purpose cleaning and I think you will want to make this one yourselves. Not only will you save money, you will be able to tell someone exactly what ingredients are in the product you are using on your home. Your eyes are probably glazing over and you are getting ready to click out of this but hang tight cause just below I am going to give you the worlds easiest all purpose cleaner and its budget friendly! This is step one to riding your home of toxins, move over Lysol and bleach sprays there is a new boss in town!

DIY All Purpose Cleaner:

Here is what you will Need...

  • Microfiber Cleaning Cloth These cloths are AMAZING (yes I know saying a cleaning product is amazing means I have reached true adulthood. Just try it)  They make cleaning a breeze, wash up great and save you money. I do not know about you but I absolutely hate buying paper towels, think of all the money you will save for those target runs!
  • Glass Spray Bottle these are the perfect size, look pretty under your sink and you wont have to worry about BPA and plastic. I also have dropped mine a hundred times and have not had one break yet.
  • 1 Cup Distilled Water
  • 1 Cup White Vinegar
  • 15-20 Drops of Essential Oil (Orange, Lemon, Tea Tree or Grapefruit) I like to use crisp and fresh scents for this cleaner, while they smell super clean and great they also have antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic and germicidal properties.

Mix all the ingredients in your bottle, shake and get you’re clean on. Seriously, this combo is so simple yet effective; it does have a slight vinegar smell so it that is no your thing just add a little extra essential oils to the mix.

I love this to clean up sticky messes on the floor, wipe down doorknobs, freshen up the sink or clean the germs away from your kids’ toys! The options are endless, happy cleaning friends!

If you have granite, marble or quartz countertops please do not use. The vinegar will etch natural stone. Our DIY Granite cleaner is perfect for this!

One of my favorite places to shop online for health and wellness supplies is Thrive Market. It is a one stop shop for all the things I need and the prices are great. If you have a Thrive Membership and are not familiar with essential oils, I recommend purchasing from them. They are certified and organic essential oils, which is all you should ever use.
